Wait. What are these cameras put up by Dane County? 📸

• The Dane County Sheriff's Office has a contract with Flock, their info page is here with a link to Flock's so-called "transparency portal". These cameras put our community in danger.
• On April 16, the county board voted 32-1 to cancel the funding and end DCSO's contract: 2025 RES-403: Amending the 2026 Operating Budget for the Dane County Sheriff's Office to Remove Funding for the Use of the Flock Automatic License Plate Reader System 🎺
• The county contract ends May 31, 2026... but like in Verona, Flock probably won't take the cameras down right away and may need to be pestered.
• We need to stay aware of what DCSO tries to replace the Flock contract with.
